El mundo se encuentra en cuarentena y la mayoría de personas llevan al menos 10 semanas encerrados.
Un cambio de vida tan radical trae como consecuencia, entre otros factores, que las emociones negativas estén a flor de piel. Es común amanecer de mal humor, totalmente deprimido, fuertemente enojado o con una tristeza tan aguda que parecería la certeza de que nuestra vida está por terminar.
Ante esta situación, a mí me ha funcionado bailar. Bailar sola o con mi pareja de baile favorita en estos días, un pequeño de cuatro años que me hace sonreír por la pasión que ya siente por la buena música. Bailo también mientras limpio la casa, sentada mientras trabajo remotamente, mientras escribo textos beatleros o en lo que me pongo presentable para las reuniones en línea. Digo, hay que combatir lo negativo, ¿no?
Hoy te presento tres canciones beatleras con las que es imposible no bailar. Deseo que las disfrutes tanto como yo y que te hagan moverte rítmicamente mientras sonríes esperando mejores momentos.

MOVE OVER MS. L
Esta composición, grabada durante las sesiones del álbum Walls and Bridges con el fin de ser parte de este producto, vio la luz en un momento en el cual John vivía su Fin de Semana Perdido con May Pang.
Originalmente iba a ubicarse entre Surprise Surprise (Sweet Bird Of Paradox) y What You Got en el orden inicial de las canciones del álbum pero John decidió de un momento a otro y casi antes de la impresión de las cubiertas del disco que no se incluiría. En la imagen se puede ver con su letra la palabra “out” en las pruebas de impresión.
Move Over Ms L fue lanzada posteriormente en un sencillo con Stand By Me como Lado A. En la grabación participaron John, Jesse Ed Davis, Klaus Voorman y Jim Keltner, entre otros artistas. Salió al mercado también en las ediciones John Lennon Signature Box (2010) y John Lennon Anthology (1998).
Esta maravillosa, rítmica y muy bailable canción era un guiño remoto de John hacia Yoko, la mujer que en algún momento se hacía llamar Ms. Lennon (Ms. L). En esa época, John acostumbraba llamarle desde Los Angeles para pedirle que le permitiera regresar con ella al Dakota. Siempre recibía un humillante “no te encuentras listo aún”.
Más conmovedor que leer un texto escrito por un hombre que no consigue el amor que realmente desea, es entender la letra de la canción. Pongan especial atención a la segunda estrofa. Forgiving is so divine… ¡Ay, John!

Un cover conocido de Move Over Ms L fue el realizado por Keith Moon, baterista de The Who, que había estado presente en algunas de las sesiones del álbum Pussy Cats, de Harry Nilsson, y que la seleccionó para su álbum Two Sides Of The Moon.

Bailar sola esta maravillosa canción de Chuck Berry interpretada por Paul McCartney es todo un placer cuasi-orgásmico y más si sigues la coreografía del video de la misma.
La versión de Paul fue incluida en el álbum Run Devil Run de 1999 y como un doble Lado A en un sencillo con No Other Baby.
“Sí, fue una buena canción que Chuck Berry compuso. Creo que John la cantaba cuando buscábamos canciones, era una suya. Siempre me gustó, es llenadora. Hay una letra muy buena en ella. Respeto el trabajo de Chuck como compositor”. – Paul McCartney
Paul grabó Brown Eyed Handsome Man en los Estudios Abbey Road el viernes 5 de marzo de 1999 encargándose de la voz principal, bajo, percusiones y guitarra eléctrica. Lo acompañaron David Gilmour y Mick Green en la guitarra eléctrica, Peter Wingfield en el piano, Ian Paice en las percusiones y Chris Hall en el acordeón.
El video se grabó el viernes 22 de octubre en los Estudios Black Island de Acton, en Londres. La grabación tuvo que ser detenida cuando un grupo de agentes de Scotland Yard ingresó por la fuerza al set de grabación. Éste había sido alertado de que había personas armadas adentro y sólo cuando Paul salió a explicar que únicamente eran actores, el equipo pudo continuar con la grabación.

The Wilbury Twist
Ya sin Roy Orbison y deseosos de continuar con el legado Wilbury, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan y Jeff Lynne decidieron divertirse con la canción que cerró el álbum Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3 (no hubo número 2; un bootleg se lo había llevado y por puro humor harrisoniano así se decidió) de octubre de 1990.
Wilbury Twist fue la segunda canción en ser incluida en el tercer sencillo de este álbum (no hubo segundo, claro) junto con New Blue Moon que salió al mercado el 25 de marzo de 1991. Llegó al número 46 de las listas de popularidad y de ahí no pasó.
El sencillo también incluía instrucciones: “Para bailar el Wilbury Twist hay que tener idea de los pasos básicos y el movimiento de manos. Gracia es la clave para bailar exitosamente. Los movimientos fluidos y coordinados son lo que hacen que un bailarín sea sobresaliente. Los buenos bailarines no mueven sin ton ni son la cadera sino de manera natural con el ritmo de los pasos y la música”.
El video fue dirigido por Dick Clements y Ian La Frenais. Incluyó apariciones especiales de Woody Harrelson, Whoopi Goldberg, Fred Savage, Ben Savage, Kala Savage, Milli Vanilli, Cheech Marin, John Candy y Eric Idle.
